The Waterbury Rotary Club is pleased to offer a FREE Mental Health First Aid Training on January 20 for anyone interested in learning how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. The course will be on Saturday, January 20 from 9 am-4 pm, with 2 hours of independent prework required. The training is free to attend and open to all, and there will be lunch provided by Hannah's House.
What does it entail? MHFA training teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. Much like how people get trained to identify the signs of a heart attack and then start CPR or call 911, this training is the same concept for mental health and substance use challenges. These are growing challenges in our community and world, and MHFA training helps provide the training and resources to identify and address these situations.
To register, please email susanmcknight@ - spaces are limited to sign up soon! More information about the training can be found at gmavt.netwaterburyvtrotary.org/page/mhfa or on these trainings more broadly at mhfa.org, or I am happy to answer any questions.
We hope you will join us in making a difference in your community by taking this training!
